James attended school at the Leslie Street Public School.
By Trade he was a welder and he worked for the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC).
James moved from Toronto to Lindsay when he retired from the TTC and took up residence at the Pleasantview Trailer Park on Hwy 35 just a few miles North of Lindsay and a mile North of Hwy 7 on the road to Fenelon Falls.
James was cremated and his remains were interred in Pine Hills Cemetery in Toronto.
James married Laura May Lambie {2687} [MRIN: 946], daughter of Albert Lambie {2714} and Laura Jane Block {2715}, on July 10, 1937 in Toronto, Ontario. (Laura May Lambie {2687} was born on May 19, 1914 in Toronto, Ontario and died on January 24, 1970 in Toronto, Ontario.)
