"John and his wife Elizabeth immigrated to the U.S. in June 1850. They settled in Springfield Township, Williams County, Stryker, Ohio. His sixth child, Richard was my great-great grandfather. Elizabeth died in 1861 and in October of that year, he remarried. Her name was Elizabeth Laze and they had two children. He fathered a total of 16 children, the last being born when he was in his seventies."
