- Born: November 12, 1811, Egington, Bedfordshire, England
- Died: June 21, 1832, Marston, Bedfordshire, England aged 20
Research Notes:
In a letter to Joseph Harris (1892-1976) from James Wells Jr. (his cousin, son of Mary Harris and James Wells Sr.) there is mention of an older brother of Jane's that fell over a rocky embankment/cliff while singing Christmas Carols one sad Christmas Eve. James states that the boy was of his late teens or early twenties as his Mother Mary recollected. It is iferred in the letter that the said Barnard boy was a little tipsy on this night and misjudged his distance from the edge of the embankment. It is assumed that John Ellingham Barnard is the Barnard of which James Wells writes of.
