bullet  Marriage Notes:

In the Words of Bob Sillcox re. His Sister Edith's Family
& The Reason Behind Nick-Naming Her Oldest Daughter "Izzy"

"My sister, Edith May Sillcox, had two husbands during her lifetime - Frank Kelly & Conrad Reiman. Frank is the father of Edith's 2 children: Edna May Kelly, known as "Issy" and Eric Ketcham Kelly, known as "Ketch". Frank died of cancer at a relatively young age unfortunately. He was great fun when alive. Conrad (Reiman) had previously been married & was an old flame of Edith's from her college days in Boston (Conrad graduated from Amhurst & Harvard Law School).

Frank Kelly was very active in local politics & supported John F. Kennedy when he first entered politics. When Frank & Edith produced a baby girl they wanted to make sure she would succeed in the political arena, if she ever decided to seek office (especially since they resided in the very Irish Catholic Boston). As a couple they went to service at the local Unitarian Church. Edith was a Protestant & Frank was an Irish Catholic. At the time of Edna May's birth, they both felt it would be a good idea to cover all the bases & appeal to the Jewish vote by nicknaming Edna May "Issy". With this background, she would be impossible to beat if ever she decided to run for public office. There, you have it !!!"
