There is some confusion around Ann's maiden name. Some sources say it was Harris, but on the gravestone of her daughter, Alice Mary Millard, her name is given as Annie Barker Millard. Barker may have been a middle name, but this is not likely.

Until some decisive records are found, Ann has been given the name "Barker" as her maiden name.

Ann married John Millard, son of James Osborn Millard and Ann Paine, in Feb 1874 in Cranfield, Bedfordshire, England. (John Millard was born in 1849 in Cranfield, Bedfordshire, England and died in 1909 in Cranfield, Bedfordshire, England.)
