Robert Billings was a Brickmaker by trade. His daughter Laura would marry Charles Wagstaff, the son of David Wagstaff. All of the Wagstaff men were in the Brick trade as well.

Robert married Elizabeth Jane Price, daughter of Unknown and Jane Price. (Elizabeth Jane Price was born in 1851, died on 7 Apr 1921 in Toronto, Ontario and was buried on 11 Apr 1921 in Saint John's Norway Cemetery, Toronto, Ontario.)
