bullet  Research Information:

The Stuempfle-Roos family settled in the county of Waterloo...specifically the village of Preston - at the time called Preston Village. Preston is a suburb of Kitchener, Ontario.

Preston Village, now just simply called Preston, was a known place of migration for German immigrants in the early 19th century. The town of Kitchener, in the County of Waterloo, was once known as "New Berlin" due to the influx of German immigrants during this point in history.

The town of "New Berlin" had its name formally changed to the town of "Kitchener" at some point during the First World War; primarily due to the stigma associated with being German at this time in history.

Johann's grandson, Albert Peter Quentin, was schooled in Theology in the town of New Berlin. This fact is noted on the Death Record of Albert's Father, Charles Peter Quirmbach. Albert Peter claimed his Father's body upon his death in 1895; therefore, his rank and name were noted on the certificate.
