Leon John Yates

  General Information:

The following statement was written to me by Leon's wife, Linda (Fleury) Yates regarding her husbands birth.

"I married an Englishman. Leon was born in Matlock, Darbyshire in 1945. His Mother was sent, via train, to deliver him in a castle that was made over during the war into a maternity hospital. He has that listed on his birth certificate and has won many a wager."

"Leon immigrated to Canada when he was 19 years old with $45.00 in his pocket; the rest is history. I think his accent along with the Beatles invasion may have helped him win me over."

Leon married Linda Enid Fleury, daughter of William Harris Fleury and Pauline Enid Wilder. (Linda Enid Fleury was born on 15 Jul 1951.)
